I have a supertrapp with 6 disks, I still have the white spacer on my bike, my main jet was increased from 145 to 155. Now I don't work on my own bike, but my mechanic worked 2 to 3 hours installing the unit and tweaking the carb. settings. After a few hundred miles the unit is turning brown by where it inserts into the header pipe. I do live in a very hot climate though.
Anyway from what I hear on this forum and from my mechanic, turning a bike is as much art and magic as anything else. I think fractions of a turn is more accurate of a measure for some adjustments. It takes a series of adjustments where you make a number of adjustments, check the plug after a few minutes, go for a ride and do do it all over again. He said he got real good at getting the tank on and off.
Also you need to decide how you want your bike to perform. Do you want it tweaked for the low, middle or high end? The disks in combination with the carb settings all play into this. From what I hear temperature and humidity and altitude can make a difference so it is hard to just duplicate someone else setup.
Don't getted pissed, get cool and buy a service manual (Cylmer cheaper than Suzuki) or both.
These things are diffinitely not plug and play.
If you want to do it yourself, go for it and enjoy. Once you are where you want to be with it, I bet it will be a great kick.
